Dr. Christopher Yoo
Dr. Christopher Yoo received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine, and his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Yoo has worked as an associate dentist since 2017. In 2024, he purchased the Whittier dental office, now known as Karis Family Dental, which has served the community for over 30 years.
Dr. Yoo is committed to carrying on the tradition of excellence started by his predecessor and loves getting to know his patients on a personal basis. He also believes in providing patients with the highest standard of care that does not compromise the patient's overall comfort, expectations, and desires for their smiles and dental health.
Being an excellent dentist means a lot to Dr. Yoo. He appreciates that he is able to provide care, especially for something that impacts people daily. We need our teeth to eat, speak properly, and maintain our overall aesthetics. Therefore, being able to provide care to uphold these very important tenets of life has developed into a great passion of his.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Yoo loves sports! He enjoys playing basketball and tennis and has recently been learning jiu-jitsu. He dabbles in baking and cooking and enjoys serving in his church community. He's currently serving as a youth group leader at his church.
A fun fact people may not know about Dr. Yoo is that he's a die-hard movie fan. He's watched a wide range of movies, including classics, and his list of "must-watch" movies continues to grow! If anyone has any recommendations, he would love them!
Alice Song
Dental Assistant
Alice received her training at Chaffey College and has been in the dental field since 1996. Her goal is to ensure efficient operations in the dental office and to make patients and her coworkers comfortable and happy. She says, "I love being around our patients and staff. They teach me something new every day and remind me that kindness still exists. It comes naturally in our practice from everyone, patients and staff alike."
She enjoys reading, yard work, swimming, and tinkering in her free time. A fun fact about Alice? She likes to break things and put them back together again!
Joy Mo
Front Office Coordinator
Joy is one of the first faces you'll see when you come to Karis Family Dental, and she's here to help with all of your scheduling and financial questions. Joy says, "I love working with Dr. Yoo and the Karis Family Dental team because they are passionate about getting to know the patients and providing the best possible care."
In her free time, Joy has recently rediscovered her love for reading and cooking, so she spends her free time catching up on books and listening to podcasts while trying out new recipes. Besides this, she loves exploring different parts of LA, whether it be trying a new cafe, going to museums, or visiting botanic gardens and restaurants. She also enjoys composting and learning about ways to live a less wasteful and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
A fun fact that people may not know about Joy is that she still has one baby tooth!
